Story behind the story:
I got home from a month long trip to Peru about a week and a half before we were set to leave for Born Free II show and Biltwell 500. Got to the shop and looked at the shovel. Thought to myself there is no way Im gonna get this thing done in time to make that 2500 mile round trip. So me being me and doing what I do in any situation like this... throw money at the problem. Quickest solution, decided to start looking for a Evo Sporty. Luckily every person in Salt Lake thinks that their 97 Sportsters are worth about $80 less than they bought them for new.
After about a day of looking I came across a 2002, 883 with only 2300 miles on it for $2500. Cant be real. Show it to DP and he says call em just to see. Call the guy and it sounds legit, I told him i was on my way. He lived in Kemmerer WY which is about two hours east of SLC. We hopped in the truck and hauled ass up to Wyoming. Got to doods house and sure enough the bike sat there looking a new as it was. Still being a skeptic took the bike for a spin around the neighborhood and rode like a dream (a really slow 883 dream, but dream none the less). Handed the guy the cash and we took off back home.

Did the 883 to 1200 upgrade. Me and DP rewired most of the bike. New pipes built by brandon. Eternal Combustion seat. BenchMark air intake. Random ebay find bars. And paint by Andy Pangea.
I've never had a bike that I felt was finished. A bike that was just set aside for day to day riding. This shall be such a bike. Sad news is now i have to start back to work on The Frankenstein bike aka my shovel.
p.s. sorry about the shitty pics. I dropped my new iPhone 4 and luckily for me the only part that broke was a nice crack right in the lens part of the camera. Fuck me right.
